NAES Turbine Services Completes Major Steam Turbine Inspection

03/13/2007 - 3/12/07 - Houston, TX - NAES Turbine Services (NTS), a division of North American Energy Services (NAES), announces that it completed a Major Inspection on Unit 3 at Dynegy Northeast Generation's Danskammer Power Plant during the 2006 Fall outage cycle.

The Danskammer plant, located in Newburg, NY, is a 501 MW coal and oil fired plant containing four General Electric steam turbines. NAES Turbine Services performed a complete disassembly of the 130 MW turbine HP/IP and LP case, generator and turbine valves, and removed the rotors and generator field. In addition, NTS completed a blast clean, NDE and evaluation of steam path components, performed on site repair of steam path components, and completed topless laser alignment of the entire steam path, as well as a boresonic inspection of the rotors. During the inspection, NTS furnished three rows of new turbine blading and replaced the ID Fan.

In addition to the inspection, NAES Turbine Services managed various subcontractors that were called in as unexpected items arose during the course of the project.
