Our Corporate attitude reflects our respect for the significant effect each of our plants has on the reliability and supply of power to the communities in which they serve. Our activities support this attitude through our commitment to ensure compliance with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Standards.
NAES has ultimate responsibility for its activities and will communicate with its employees and its customers to promote mutual understanding of the Reliability Standards established by NERC.
Internal Compliance
Our employees will comply completely with the letter and intent of the NERC Standards and the NAES Reliability Compliance Program or equivalent
program established by the respective plant Owner(s). Adherence to the Compliance Program shall be supervised by the NAES Vice President of Power Plant Operations and managed by his agents.
We will carry out effective training for all appropriate employees to ensure a thorough understanding of the pertinent requirements and the importance of compliance with the NERC Standards.
Self Reporting
It is the responsibility of all NAES employees to comply with this Policy, and to inform NAES management of actual or potential non-compliance.
When failures in reporting, communication, documentation or other cases of non-compliance occur, the problem will be corrected and reported in
the most expeditious and timely manner possible. Failure to comply with NERC Standards and this Policy will not be tolerated.
Any actions taken by employees to ignore, conceal, or misrepresent requirements, procedures, or errors will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
We will audit and monitor our compliance to all applicable NERC Standards and the objectives of this Policy. We will take appropriate action to correct noted deficient areas, keep accurate and complete information, and make regular reports to NAES management.
Cooperation
We encourage the cooperation of all NAES employees with FERC, NERC, and regional investigators and auditors to supply these agents with all materials, means, and accesses to facilitate the completion of their charge.
This Policy is disseminated to each of our employees and customers.
